d.The dog was tied up in the train station for weeks before he was rescued.
This dog was abandoned in a metro station in Lima, Peru, four years ago. The dog, christened “Cabezón” by his rescuers, was tied to a machine with wheels; the straps around his body were so tight that he was unable to move and could only stand with his head bowed.
Sara Moran, owner of Milagros Perrunos, a small Peruvian shelter for disabled dogs, hypothesizes that “Cabezón’s” owner may have bound him up and abandoned him there after the dog sustained injuries to his hind legs.
Four years ago, Bobblehead was discovered by a group of children, who fed him and freed him from the artifact.
According to reports, Cabezoncito was involved in an accident that rendered him unable to walk.
Daily, vast numbers of individuals passed by, but no one appeared to care about the dog. Sara stated that Cabezón’s health was already critical.
This time, the young men brought Bobblehead to Sara’s home, where she cares for stray dogs and keeps the most severely injured or immobile ones in cots.
Sara rushed Cabezón to the hospital, but she had terrible news.
Said Sarah:
Significant damage was done to his vertebrae, and he developed renal failure. In addition to having numerous wounds and ulcers, he was unable to move because he was chained to a table and forced to urinate and defecate there, resulting in the rupture of his genitalia.
Even if Bobblehead were to survive, the veterinarian predicted he would remain immobile.
Sara believes that many people would have chosen euthanasia for a dog like Cabezón, especially in Peru, where injured and abandoned stray dogs, cats, and other animals are a common problem.
